The husband is struggling with his diet, and as I keep telling him, one day isn't going to kill him - i.e., he can have a 'bad' day, and it won't immediately add 20 pounds to his frame. In fact, research has shown (okay, this is my nerd part coming out), that satisfying cravings is good in the long run. And allowing yourself a little 'transgression' doesn't mean a total setback. So... Let me be preachy here. Don't give up, just because you haven't been perfect. Accept that you haven't been perfect, and get on with your life. No one is perfect, and torturing yourself is only going to make a 'diet' seem like work, rather than a general change. Roll with the monthly thing - your body will adjust. (And no, I wasn't a cheerleader in my previous life, but I think you are doing great!)
